context
Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) provides funding and resources to launch and scale grassroots ocean initiatives and startups, and hosts a global network of youth, leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators all working tirelessly to restore the health of our ocean.
the challenge
In 2019, Salesforce founder Marc Benioff and Lynn Benioff donated $1.5M to SOA to create 100 new ocean solutions by 2021.By the start of 2022, SOA had surpassed this goal, and accelerated 222 solutions. To celebrate this milestone, we crafted SOA's first-ever impact report and launch campaign.
how we worked
I managed this project, including research and survey methodology and outreach, content strategy, art direction, and collaboration with design and development—while building and launching a marketing strategy around the release of the report.

Throughout this project, we worked closely with SOA's program and impact teams to craft and disseminate surveys polling thousands of solutions and founders. We analyzed data, distilled key trends and insights, and worked with our design and development teams to bring our findings to life.
Part of this project entailed publishing SOA's ocean impact narrative. To do this, we established five categories of ocean health impact, and wrote the story of each one.
results
We soft-launched our impact report, titled the Ocean Solutions Report, in April, and unveiled it to the world while we co-hosted the United Nations Ocean Conferences' official Youth and Innovation Forum, in June 2022.
Our corresponding press push landed coverage about the impact report in Inc., Forbes, and Tech Crunch, among others.
